Caelan's first Christmas got off to a good start with us going to the see the Beauty and the Beast pantomime on Christmas Eve. With Caelan being so young we weren't sure how long he would last, but we took a chance anyway...

He did manage to sit through 45 minutes of the first half, but then got a little bit restless. David took him out and had a little play with him and when Mom and I came out for the interval we decided it wasn't worth putting him through the second half. Mom and I stayed and David took Caelan home. I haven't seen Mom laugh like that in ages, she really enjoyed herself :-) As did I...
When we got home, we had some visitors! Caelan's Nannie and Grandad came for a visit! And Caelan got to open a few cheeky presents!

We were then expecting Caelan's Aunties, Uncles and cousins for a visit, but unfortunately he got too tired before they got here and we had to put him down for the night - but not before putting out some cookies & milk for Santa and some carrots for his reindeer! Of course, Caelan tried to eat the cookies...
When everybody arrived, David read the book 'The Night before Christmas' that my grandparents had given to me in 1977 to the kids. This is one of the few things that I have saved from my childhood and I'm glad it did, especially now that we have Caelan! It was one of the first times I've seen all the kids sat down and listening so intently! I think we have definitely started a new tradition! Hopefully next year Caelan will still be awake when they get here!
Christmas morning starting like most mornings... Breakfast! Although one thing was different - I tried to put a Santa hat on Caelan, but he was not having it! lol
And we had a special visitor during the night of course....
After breakfast, we opened a few presents starting with his first stocking, but Caelan wasn't too interested in this either! He much preferred to play with a water bottle...imagine!
Grammie and Grampie got Caelan a great gift (one of MANY) and I tried to capture the story of Caelan opening it!
After preparing dinner, Mom, David, Caelan and I went to the pub for a Christmas drink! It was very busy... This would never happen in Canada, but seem to be very popular here in the UK! lol

When we came back we tried a few more presents! And then started to have our Christmas dinner...
We even had some more presents to open and play with before bed! Along with some skyping to do...
To finish off, just a few more photos (some of my favourites) from the holidays... It was definitely our best Christmas yet!
